NUTRITIONAL HEALTH BENEFITS OF SOYABEAN
Soyabeans are good source of proteins they are loaded with all the essential amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Body needs protein for various metabolic function, immune function, cell repair, and muscle growth. Protein is the macronutrient which is needed by the body in large amount. Serving of 100 gm of soya chunks provide 55g of protein it is more than the 100gm serving of meat or egg.
Calories in soyabean mainly come from protein and carbohydrates. Soya chunks have very small amount of fat in it. 100 gm serving of soya chunks have 340 kcal which is 17% of total intake based on 2000 kcal diet.
Soya chunks contain high amount of carbohydrate but meat is almost carbohydrate free this is because soya chunks are derived from soy beans. Soy beans are high in carbohydrate. For the body, carbohydrates are the primary source of energy and daily recommended amount of carbohydrate is 130gm.
