Serving of 100 gm of soya chunks provide 55g of protein it is more than the 100gm serving of meat or egg.

 

CALORIES

Calories in soyabean mainly come from protein and carbohydrates. Soya chunks have very small amount of fat in it. 100 gm serving of soya chunks have 340 kcal which is 17% of total intake based on 2000 kcal diet.

 

 

 

CARBOHYDRATE

Soya chunks contain high amount of carbohydrate but meat is almost carbohydrate free this is because soya chunks are derived from soy beans. Soy beans are high in carbohydrate. For the body, carbohydrates are the primary source of energy and daily recommended amount of carbohydrate is 130gm.

 

IRON

With the help of iron oxygen is transported into the body, this is an electrolyte mineral. Iron deficiency in the body can affect immune system, lead to weak immunity, fatigue, and physical weakness. Soya chunks contain high level of iron. 100 gm of soya chunks contains almost 10mg of iron. Average adult contains almost 8mg of per day. Women age between 19 to 50 mg of iron per day.

 

Calcium

Calcium helps to strengthen bones and teeth also plays important role in muscle contraction. Calcium is a mineral that contains over 300 mg of calcium on 100 gm of soya chunks servings. Daily recommended amount for an adult is 1000 mg. But for women above 50 and men above 70 should have 1200 mg of calcium per day.
